Rabbi Ed's 25th Anniversary Book Project
JOIN US IN CELEBRATING RABBI ED’S 25 YEARS AT NARAYEVER!
The summer of 2025 marks Rabbi Ed Elkin’s 25th year of service with the First Narayever Congregation.
Throughout this time, Rabbi Ed has enriched the congregation’s intellectual, communal, and spiritual life with inspiring and thoughtful ideas and teaching.
We are thrilled to share that the Board of Governors has approved a proposal submitted by Sharone Bar-David to mark this anniversary by publishing a book that will eternalize a select collection of the Rabbi’s written and spoken work.
The project will proceed in two phases. The first phase is the compiling the content and preparation for print and printing several hundred copies. The second phase will be sale of copies of the book as a fundraising project later this year.
Rabbi Ed is most excited about this idea. He has already begun working energetically on the manuscript. Thank you to our congregant Barbara Berson who is working with the Rabbi as a substantive editor.
UPDATE - March 11, 2025
We are delighted to share that with the enthusiastic participation from many of you, we have now reached and even somewhat exceeded our goal of $13,000 necessary to bring Rabbi Ed’s compiled works book to print.
A heartfelt thank you to all those who have donated to the book so far.
As planned, we are pausing the donations effort at this time, and apologize to those of you who intended to donate and didn’t get to it quite yet. In order to remain in good standing as a charitable organization we can raise funds only for very specific purposes, to be used only in very specific ways, and therefore we cannot exceed what we have already collected.
But no worries! Close to the end of the year or in early 2026, anyone who wishes to do so will be able to purchase copies of the book. It will be a work to be cherished, a beautifully designed hardcover book, with a rich and wide ranging collection of materials presented by our rabbi over a quarter of a century. A treat to behold!
