YOM KIPPUR APPEAL

At Kol Nidre, we appeal to those in attendance to donate to support a range of worthy organizations doing important work – both in the GTA and in Israel.

Last year, funds received from our Yom Kippur appeal enabled us to disburse $66,600 to 11 charities supporting needs in Israel and Canadian organizations working in immigration and displacement; the full list of last year’s grantees may be found HERE.

Please support this appeal as generously as you can, so we can continue to do our part as a community to help heal our world. Donations in any amount will help those in need.

Online donations can be made HERE following the conclusion of Yom Kippur.

DONATE NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS

Due to heightened security including bag checks, we are moving the food drive from Kol Nidre to the first day of Rosh Hashanah. This change will help reduce delays at the MNJCC entrance and avoid the need for food donations to be brought inside, which would slow things down further during security checks. At the synagogue, we will also accept food donations on Rosh Hashanah Day 1. These can be brought in the Shul and left in bins in the social hall.

Most of us have the luxury of fasting by choice on Yom Kippur. But not everyone knows what it’s like to have food in the cupboard and fridge every day. Please help out by contributing non-perishable food items on Rosh Hashanah Day 1  for our annual food drive for the Daily Bread Food Bank. Food bank staff will be on hand at the MNjcc prior to Rosh Hashanah Day 1 services to accept your donations.
