Bringing new life into the world is a joyous occasion. The Narayever is a place where this occasion can be celebrated in a warm and traditional manner.
For boys: Brit Milah is celebrated on the eighth day after birth. It celebrates the entrance of baby boys into the covenant of Abraham through circumcision. If you would like a recommendation for a mohel or a mohelet, please contact Rabbi Elkin. The shul is generally available to be rented as a venue for your Brit Milah. For details, please contact the shul office.
For girls: The arrival of a daughter is celebrated through a ceremony in which the girl formally receives her Hebrew name and is entered into the covenant of her people. This ceremony is generally performed in the context of the Shabbat morning service. For details, please contact the shul office.
When a birth happens in our community, the Hesed committee can arrange for meals to be delivered to the family. If you are expecting, please contact the Hesed chair to arrange for support. E-mail Contact – firstname.lastname@example.org
