Narayever Congregation loves kids! Children are always welcome in our regular sanctuary services with their families. We also have specially designed programs for kids throughout the school year & on the High Holy Days.
At First Narayever we empower our teens to take on leadership roles and assist in engaging our younger children, creating a sense of community. Parents also take on a dynamic role, participating in the youth committee or actively engaging in childrens programs. Our professional Family and Youth Engagement Coordinator provides leadership to our children from childhood, to Bar/Bat Mitzvah and through their teen years.
Each Shabbat during the school year, beginning at 11:00 we offer:
Shabbat B’Yachad & Rimonim, a lively service for families with children 0–7 year; includes singing, games related to the parsha, & learning of prayers. Alternate weeks are led by parents and at other times by our teens.
Netivot: a weekly Shabbat service & program for children 7–12 years led by Narayever teens. The program integrates tefillah (prayer), learning new melodies, & creative exploration of the Torah portion.
Chalutzim Shabbat: a bi-weekly interactive & creative Shabbat experience for our post Bar and Bat Mitzvah teens co- led by our Youth Coordinator and young Israeli emissaries (Shinshinim), with creative examination of the parsha.
Babysitting: for children 3 months to 3 years is also available Shabbat mornings 9:30 am – 12:30
Bar/Bat Mitzvah: During the school year students approaching their Bar/Bat Mitzvah participate in a bi weekly class led by our Rabbi and Youth Coordinator. The BBM class provides opportunities to explore themes relevant to becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah & fosters development of a shul community for our young people.
Chalutzim Youth Group: for kids grade 8 & up. Our two Israeli emissaries bring their energy & creativity to offer interesting programming throughout the year.
