Welcome to The First Narayever Congregation
The First Narayever Congregation is a warm and welcoming Jewish traditional egalitarian synagogue located in downtown Toronto. If you’ve been before, then you already know the strength and warmth of our community. If you haven’t, come experience it for yourself.

PRESIDENT REPORT MAY 2014
Celebrate the 5775 High Holy Days with the First Narayever Congregation at the Miles Nadal JCC
You are invited to spend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur with the First Narayever Congregation. Erev Rosh Hashanah is September 24 and Kol Nidre is October 3. Once again Rabbi Dr. David Weiss will lead our MNjcc services. Creative and inspirational programming for children and youth, including family services, is available at all times that the main service is running. For adults we also have meditative chanting led by Alon Nashman, and concurrent learning sessions led by Ralph Benmurgui. It’s important to us to provide you the ability to daven in a way that is meaningful to you.
Our Kol Nidre choir also returns, led again this year by Galia Shaked.
Member tickets are free with membership. Non-member tickets are available at the following prices:
- Adult: $220—or, for Yom Kippur services only, $150.
- Teen/Young Adult Student (full-time student under age 30): $54
- Child (pre-bar/bat mitzvah): $36
Non-member tickets can be purchased:
In person, at the front desk of the the MNjcc 750 Spadina (at Bloor). Tickets can be purchased by cheque, cash, or Visa.

A full schedule of our services and related activities is available at http://narayever.ca/hhd-schedule/. Services are open to shul members and non-members alike; come see what we have to offer!
Members also have the option of davening at the shul, where services will be led by Rabbi Ed Elkin. You should already have received your membership renewal form; if not, please contact the office.
Special accessibility note: The High Holy Days can be a challenging time for everyone. For those of us with special needs, it can be especially difficult. If you require accommodation to attend the High Holy Services at the shul or the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, please contact the shul office at 416-927-0546, and we’ll be happy to help.
May you have a sweet new year!
